Lord Kitchener
Lord Kitchener was a famous residenent of Kilflynn as he lived here in Crotta House for 15 years He is famous for his millitary exploits in the Sudan and during the Boer War. He was also appointed seceterary of state for war on the outbreak of World War 1. He is most famous for the recruitment posters for World War 1 which had his picture on it with the words on it "Your country needs you"

Denis Brosnan
Denis Brosnan is originally from Kilflynn where he grew up on a farm in Fahavane a townland on the outshirts of Kilflynn village. His brother James stills farms there . Denis is famous for his role in developing Kerry Group plc .He was recruited by a another Kilflynn man Eddie Hayes.These two men had major roles in developing Kerry Group plc.Kerry was setup in 1972 on a green field site in Listowel Co Kerry by a group of Kerry farmers who put there own money and loans from banks to set up this company known at first as North Kerry Milk Prouducts. Then in 1974 Denis Brosnan joined the company then known as Kerry Co op. He and his team led this company from a small milk prossesing company to a world leader in food manufacturing.With operations in 15 countries and employs 18000 people worldwide . Denis has recentely been nominated as one of Radio Kerrys kerryman of the millenium he is in good company as Tom Crean,Daniel O Connell,and St Brendan are also nominees. In the past year he has retired from Kerry Group Plc and is persuing other interests .
